Wonderful tour of two unique markets and amazing salsa-making lesson! - I highly recommend this tour! Maria was an absolutely fabulous guide—very warm and friendly and super interesting to talk with. We were especially grateful to her because we were late to arrive at the designated meeting spot due to a large political rally happening nearby that resulted in a number of road closures. Maria very kindly waited for us (luckily, my partner and I were the only people signed up for the tour that day), and she was able to adapt our route to avoid most of the chaos from there out. Both of the markets we visited were just so cool. The first market was remarkable not just for the amazing tamales we tried but also for the absolutely gorgeous murals throughout the space. At the second market, we picked up ingredients for our salsa-making class and also tasted some outstanding barbacoa. And then we had so much fun learning to make salsa using a slightly unusual method that I’m definitely going to deploy in the future. Lastly, we got to eat our salsa on top of some incredibly delicious huaraches. I’d recommend this tour for anyone interested in eating some amazing food and departing a bit from the beaten tourist path. Thanks so much, Maria!

Fantastic - would recommend - Our guide, Adriana, was great - super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. She took us off the beaten path and we tried plenty of great food - she even bought us a few new fruits to try when we asked. The salsa making was great - the ladies in the restaurant were fantastic. Adriana gave us lots of good tips for the rest of our stay in Mexico City too - would highly recommend

The best authentic tour experience! Come hungry and leave amazed! - This was a truly unforgettable experience. My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. I learned so much about the history of the City and every question I had was answered. The food was incredible and there was a lot!! Come hungry!! The art that was hidden in the market was incredible and I would never have found this on my own. The markets were vibrant and the highlight there for me were the flower vendors. What a treat for the senses! Navigating and learning about the metro is super useful for any visitor to CDMX. Finally, the cooking lesson at the end was so fun and delicious. The family run business where it takes place was welcoming and the lovely lady who runs it was so sweet! I loved this whole experience. This is one of the very best values I have ever received from any tour at any place!

The Hidden Treasures of the Mercado - If this was a movie production, the stories of the people are all contained and portrayed in the Mercado. I learned to say “bon provencho” as we shared tables with locals while taking my first bite of tamales. It’s like being inside the maze in there but my guide, Alfonso Gomez had more in store for me. I was innocently surprised and amazed as murals greeted the entrance to the stalls and the walls leading to the second floor. Shhhh… it a well kept secret. Finally, as they say the window to a man’s souls is through his stomach. Truly an experience to make your own salsa and “eat a piece of your cake too”My guide ie very knowledgeable not only to the landscape of tourism but he made sure that your experience is a memorable one. Thank you also to the owner of “Ramoncita” whose genuine smile can totally disarm you. Highly recommended if you are going to visit Mexico City

Great experience - Our guide - Alfonso had an incerdible knowledge, was very helpful and funny. He knew the vendors and many local people on the mercados. We got many information about CDMX, its history and culture. But the main theme was the food - we tried great tamales, atole, barbacoa tacos and huaraches. The salsa making was great fun! We recommend this tour with Alonso!

No show - They didnt show up for the tour and didn't respond to our calls. If there was some sort of misunderstanding they could at least have reached out afterward to apologize or offer a refund but I had to request a refund from TA and never heard a word back from the tour company.

Left out in the cold! - The tour operator did not inform us that the tour was canceled. We waited an hour out in the early morning cold, clueless. I wasted money on an Uber and am now waiting for a refund. If I did not show up, I would not receive a refund. The double standard doesn't work for me. Poor business practices. Will not use Viator in the future.
