Tom Cruise Was Nowhere To Be Found Following Suri's Candid Prom Pictures, And Scientology Is Likely Why
It has been a busy day in the headlines for Suri Cruise, who hasn't shied away from living her life out in New York. Suri was recently snapped celebrating her prom. The photos made headlines particularly given that she was alongside her rumored boyfriend, identified as LaGuadria senior, Toby Cohen. The two were snapped in various photos together. Cohen does have social media, but has wisely kept things quiet.
As for Suri's future, she's headed to Carnegie Mellon University, continuing her education.
As expected, the photos did spark further speculation about Tom's relationship with Suri, or lack thereof. Tom was nowhere to be found, and there wasn't any mention of the actor. Given his connection to Scientology, it seems like the two don't have any type of relationship, at least that's what seems to be the case at the moment.
Former leading Scientologist Karen De La Carriere, revealed there is one rule that may be prohibitting Tom:
- “Katie was deemed a Suppressive Person and Suri, by extension, Potential Trouble Source,” she said.
- “Tom cannot engage or connect with his own daughter. In Scientology, it is Scientology first; family priorities come low down in the order.”
As for Katie Holmes, she remains closer than ever with her daughter, and actually encourages Suri to pursue film.
"I hope she always does something on my films," Katie said. "I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people."

Although Tom wasn't present at Bella's wedding, it is said that Cruise paid for the entire event, and didn't attend due to the attention his appearance would gather.
As for Tom and his status as a father, he hasn't said much in recent times, choosing to keep that side of his life private. However, over a decade ago, he did express how grateful he was to be a dad.
"I'll never forget the moment I became a dad. But it's hard to describe -- that level of responsibility, the desire to give such joy. The clarity: Nothing is more important than this. I remember that first night, just staring at Bella. I was checking her every second, just looking at her, feeling that immediate bond. I was probably looking at her so much that I was keeping her up."
Things have clearly changed for Tom since then.
